About Wrisk
Wrisk is a UK-headquartered insurtech building automotive insurance products. In the period covered by this search they were expanding into EMEA with Ireland as the entry point, and their first EMEA customer was based there, with a go-live date already fixed.
The challenge
The role needed to sit hand in hand with that first customer, working the partner ecosystem around the go-live rather than operating at a remove from it, and it needed to be filled against a date that wasn’t moving. Wrisk had gone to market first through their own internal recruitment team and advertising, and by the time they engaged us to take it over, the timeline was already tight.
How it played out
We were brought in after Wrisk’s own search hadn’t found the right fit, with the customer go-live already close, and delivered a shortlist of two candidates within a week. Three interview rounds followed, including a trip to Dublin where Wrisk flew in to meet the candidate in person rather than close the process remotely. The offer went out and was accepted around three weeks after the shortlist was delivered.
The candidate
The person placed could work close to the customer from day one, comfortable operating inside the partner ecosystem directly and able to move at the pace the go-live demanded.
What made this work
Producing a shortlist within a week under real deadline pressure could easily have meant compromising on fit, and it didn’t, because both candidates on that list were genuinely right for the role.
Wrisk chose to meet the candidate in person in Dublin rather than close things out remotely, and that decision said as much to the candidate about the role as anything in the brief itself.
